FIFF official 2019 poster unveiled

The Fajr International Film Festival has officially released the poster for its 37th annual event.

Designed by Hamidreza Bidaghi, the poster features a shot from award-winning director Amir Naderi’s 1985 classic ‘The Runner’.

A remastered version of Naderi’s ‘The Runner’ is also scheduled to be screened in the Classics Preserved section of FIFF’s 2019 event.

The legendary director’s film is a story about an impoverished boy who loses his home during the war. After working various odd jobs, he realizes that his only path to success is through enrolling in school. At school, he clashes with his classmates and decides to compete in order to earn their respect.

Having been recognized on an international scale, ‘The Runner’ depicts real life problems through a child’s perspective, with the bulk of the film’s acting done by a youth actor.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The 37th edition of the festival will be held April 18-26, 2019 in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
